COVID-19 Update

A message from Jon Scott Williams, Fellowship Square Mesa's Executive Director
Dear Residents, Family, and Staff:
Fellowship Square Mesa regards the safety and well-being of our residents and staff as our primary goal and responsibility. The global pandemic, COVID-19 (or coronavirus), represents a severe threat to sustaining those goals, so contagion prevention processes and policies are a paramount concern.
Our emergency preparedness task force frequently meets to stay abreast of current Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and directives and to formulate strategies to implement those guidelines system-wide.
Our primary focus continues to be prevention. To best protect our residents and staff, we are implementing the following measures:
- All visitations have been restricted, except for essential visitors and end-of-life situations.
- Families and friends are encouraged to visit with residents via Skype, FaceTime, phone calls, or email.
- We will carefully screen and monitor everyone in our communities – including all staff members and essential visitors for signs of infection, recent travel history, and potential COVID-19 exposure.
- Recommendation that residents should not leave the community other than for essential medical visits to limit possible contact with infected individuals as much as possible.
- All large resident group activities and sessions have been canceled, but one on one and virtual activities are encouraged.
- Any new internal small group activities that allow for engagement will maintain social distancing protocols.
- Residents and staff are reminded to adopt social distancing and frequent hand washing.
- Dining venues will be closed to adhere to strict social distancing guidelines. All meals will be delivered to each resident’s level of care needs while still maintaining social distancing protocols.
- Transportation services have been reduced to essential doctor appointments only.
- Telehealth, or telemedicine, interventions are supported and encouraged.
We are cognizant of the inconvenience this causes residents, families, and staff, but the health of our residents trumps the transitory disruption of normal service delivery and visitations. We very much appreciate your patience understanding and cooperation during this extraordinary event. When this threat subsides, and the ADHS and CDC rescind their current recommendations and guidance, we will communicate to you about the resumption of normal activities.
