The Gift of Caregiving: Tawnya Christensen

Senior Living

Fellowship Square Mesa is extremely fortunate to have incredible, highly-qualified caregivers capably leading this senior living community. One of these gems who is truly impacting seniors’ lives on a daily basis is Tawnya Christensen, the Assisted Living and Social Services Director. As a native of sunny Mesa, Arizona, she has spent nearly three decades serving seniors, just like both of her parents did. Her vast experience in all areas of senior services, from Housekeeping to Executive Director, enables her to bring comprehensive insight and positive influence to aging residents.

Qualifications and Experience

The extensive qualifications and experience that Tawnya has under her senior care belt are so plentiful that families and loved ones can place complete confidence in the living environment she has helped create for residents. She has her Assisted Living Managers License plus Alzheimer’s & Dementia Instructor certificate, serves on the Memory Care Alliance for AZALFA and C.N.A. Board for EVIT committees, and is a Paul Harris Rotarian along with an Arizona Leading Age Fellow. In addition to currently serving as the Assisted Living & Social Services Director at Fellowship Square Mesa, Ms. Christensen is also giving back to the community and next generation during a caregiver shortage by  teaching Caregiving classes as an Adult Education Instructor with EVIT.

A conversation with Tawnya about her hospitable services will lead you to quickly understand her outstanding intentionality in all that she does with seniors. She believes in tailored care plans and approaches for residents that revolve around natural circadian rhythms, their personal comforts, as well as understanding the spirit and soul of each individual. It is important to her that seniors are known for who they were before dementia so that her staff can develop meaningful relationships, plus treat them with the same love and respect after a diagnosis.

Senior Living

If you’re looking for a trustworthy Assisted Living or Memory Care community, we invite you to come by Fellowship Square Mesa sometime to meet Tawnya and a few staff members. You will walk away with a clear sense of the incredible care and intentionality that is applied to the lives of seniors at this resort-style senior living campus. What a gift people like Tawnya are to our organization and society at large!
